Houston Community College – Alief

Pieper faced quite a few challenges on this $2 million, six-month project. We worked 16-hour days to keep the building functioning throughout construction and achieve our customer’s goals. The level one and two build-out portion of this job was very fast-paced, requiring demolition and then building of computer, engineering and chemical labs, a library, offices and classrooms — all with a complex power and lighting scheme — in four months.

Pieper also replaced several large switchboards and electrical feeders in an occupied building, forcing us to split our crews into two shifts: 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for the build-out work, and 11 p.m. – 7 a.m. for the distribution work. The chiller plant renovation ran simultaneously.
