A six-story, 120,000 sq. ft. retail and office building now occupies the vacant space at Beltway 8 and Interstate-10. Level one serves as the home to restaurants and retail, while the upper levels serve as office space. In addition, Texas A&M’s Mays Business School has leased 24,000 sq. ft. in the new building to open a new satellite classroom for its Professional MBA program.
Pieper handled the electrical distribution, core power and lighting and fire alarm systems. Pieper Project Manager Reno Luxardo said the project’s fast time frame made this building a unique challenge.
The project was built to attain a LEED Silver rating. For their subcontractors’ and their work, Hoar Construction was a 2013 finalist for the Associated Builders & Contractors of Greater Houston’s Excellence in Construction Award.
